Well, lemme tell ya ’bout this fishin’ thing down at Navarre Pier. Folks been talkin’, and I figured I’d share what I heard.
So, this pier, it’s real long. They say it’s over 1,500 feet stickin’ out into the water. That’s a lotta walkin’, but I reckon it gets ya out there where the fish are.
Now, I ain’t no fancy fisher, but people tell me they catchin’ all sorts. They talk about Cobia, ya know, them big brown fish. Said they swimmin’ by in the summer. Reds and Trouts, they’re around too, all summer long. Some fella even told me ’bout Jack Crevalle and Tarpon, big ol’ things.
- Cobia (summer)
- Reds (all summer)
- Speckled Trout (all summer)
- Flounder (all summer)
- Jack Crevalle
- Tarpon
- Ladyfish
- Mahi Mahi (near reefs)
- Mackerel (near reefs)
If you like goin’ out on a boat, they say there’s this place, the Oriskany Wreck, and some other spots with fake reefs. You can catch Mahi Mahi and Mackerel out there. Sounds fancy, but I’m stickin’ to the pier. My legs ain’t what they used to be.
They got this number you can call if you wanna know more ’bout the pier. It’s 850-710-3239. I ain’t called it myself, but maybe you want to. They say it’s open early in the mornin’, 5 AM, and stays open till 11 at night.
Now, folks go fishin’ for different reasons. Some wanna catch somethin’ big to show off, some just wanna eat somethin’ fresh. And then there’s the lookin’ at the sunset. They say it’s somethin’ special from that pier. I ain’t seen it myself, but folks rave about it. Makes me think maybe I should go take a peek.
Heard there’s an app, too, that tells ya when the fishin’ is good. Somethin’ about the best hours to go. I ain’t got one of them fancy phones, but if you do, maybe it’s worth checkin’ out.
And you can find reports online, tellin’ ya what folks been catchin’. Sounds like they keep track of it pretty good. They even got a group that tells ya ’bout the water, if it’s red or somethin’. Don’t rightly know what that means, but I reckon it’s important for the fishin’.
If you want someone to take you out on a boat, they got these charters. They know all the spots, I hear. Redfish and Trout, they seem to know where to find ’em.
One place, Half Hitch, they post reports too. Panama City and Destin, they got fishin’ there too, but we’re talkin’ ’bout Navarre Pier here.
Anyway, that’s the gist of it. Long pier, lotsa fish, pretty sunsets. If you like fishin’, sounds like a good place to go. Just remember to bring your pole and some bait, and maybe a chair, ’cause it’s a long walk. And if you got one of them fancy phones, download that app.
And that’s all I know about it. Hope it helps ya out.
