Alright, so you wanna know how deep that Hagg Lake is, huh? Well, lemme tell ya, it’s pretty darn deep in some places. I heard tell it’s about 110 feet deep at its deepest point. That’s like, if you stacked up a whole bunch of those tall fellas, one on top of the other, they still wouldn’t reach the top.
Now, I ain’t no fancy scientist or nothin’, but I know a deep hole when I see one. And Hagg Lake, she’s a big ‘un. They say it covers over a thousand acres, that’s like a whole lotta fields put together. Can you imagine that? It’s a whole heap of water.
They also say that the water goes up and down, ’bout 22 feet every year. Guess that depends on how much rain we get and such. But even when it’s low, it’s still plenty deep enough to drown a fella if he ain’t careful. You gotta watch yourself around that water, you hear?
I’ve seen folks fishin’ out there, catchin’ all sorts of things. They say there’s bass and catfish, and even some trout in there. Them fish like that deep water, I reckon. Gives ’em a place to hide and grow big. And folks like to swim and boat in that lake too. On a hot day, it’s a good place to cool off. But like I said, you gotta be careful. That water’s cold and deep, and it don’t play nice with them that don’t respect it.
They built that lake a long time ago, back in the 70s, I think. Folks say the water’s been pretty clean all these years. That’s a good thing, ’cause nobody wants to swim or fish in dirty water, right? They check it regular, make sure nothin’ bad’s growin’ in it. They’re lookin’ for stuff called “cyanotoxins,” sounds scary, huh? But they say it’s safe, so I guess we can trust ’em.
- It’s deep, like 110 feet deep in some spots.
- It’s big, covers over a thousand acres.
- The water level changes, goes up and down about 22 feet.
- Lots of fish in there, bass, catfish, and trout.
- People swim and boat there, but gotta be careful.
- Built back in the 70s and the water’s stayed pretty clean.
Anyways, Hagg Lake, she’s a big ol’ deep lake. Good for fishin’, good for swimmin’, but you gotta be respectful. That water’s powerful and it can be dangerous if you ain’t careful. So, if you go out there, keep your wits about ya, and don’t go wanderin’ off into the deep end unless you know what you’re doin’. That’s all I gotta say about that.
Oh, and one more thing, they say it’s one of the biggest lakes around here on the west side of Oregon. So, if you’re lookin’ for a big lake, Hagg Lake is the place to be. Just remember what I told ya, and you’ll be alright.
Now, I’ve heard some folks talkin’ about some other Blakes, but that ain’t got nothin’ to do with this lake, I don’t think. There’s some fella named Blake who sings them songs, and another one who plays basketball, and somethin’ about a Blake Plateau way out in the ocean. But those ain’t got nothin’ to do with how deep Hagg Lake is. We’re talkin’ ’bout the lake here, not them other things. So, let’s stick to the subject, alright?
And don’t get me started on them fancy words like “subject-verb agreement” and all that. I ain’t got no time for that schoolhouse stuff. I’m just tellin’ ya what I know about the lake, plain and simple. It’s deep, it’s big, and it’s full of water. That’s all you need to know.
