Well, let me tell ya ’bout this fish place, the Rainbow Trout Farm over on East Sylvan Drive in Sandy, Oregon. It ain’t hard to find, y’know. Signs everywhere, kinda like in them neighborhoods where everyone knows everyone else’s business. You just drive along, and boom, there it is. Easy peasy, like Sunday mornin’.
This lady, real nice she was, she hands ya fishin’ poles, worms, a bucket o’ water, and a net. Just like that! You ain’t gotta bring nothin’, which is good, ’cause sometimes I forget my own head if it ain’t screwed on tight.
Now, I ain’t no fancy fisher-woman, mind you. But even I can catch a fish at this place. They say rainbow trout are easy to raise, grow fast, and don’t fuss too much about the water. And lemme tell ya, they ain’t lyin’! Them fish, they bite! You see the little kids, their eyes lightin’ up like Christmas trees when they pull in their first one. Reminds me of when my own kids were little, always gettin’ into somethin’.
They got this place lookin’ all pretty, too. Flowers and stuff. Real nice for a picnic. Got them BBQ things, so you can cook your fish right there. Fresh fish, cooked right away…tastes a whole lot better than that store-bought stuff, I tell ya.
I heard tell folks come from all over the world to this here fish farm. Can you believe it? All the way to Sandy, Oregon, just to catch a fish! Well, I guess it’s somethin’ special. Seven miles east of Sandy, that’s what they say. Not a far drive at all, even if you’re like me and don’t like goin’ too far from home.
- They got everything you need: poles, worms, buckets, nets.

Folks on the internet, they’re sayin’ good things too. Lots of pictures, talkin’ about how much fun they had. One fella said he never leaves disappointed. Another one said it’s the best place to go if you wanna be sure you catch a fish. And I reckon they’re right. I ain’t never left empty-handed, that’s for sure.
Them trout, they put up a little fight, which makes it fun. It ain’t like catchin’ a sleepy old catfish, y’know? These fish got some spunk! And they taste good, too. Healthy, they say. I don’t know about all that healthy stuff, but I know what tastes good, and these trout, they taste good.
So, if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ fun to do, somethin’ the whole family can enjoy, head on over to the Rainbow Trout Farm. It ain’t fancy, but it’s good, clean fun. And you get to eat a tasty fish at the end of it all. Can’t beat that, now can ya?
It’s a place where you can make some memories, y’know? The kinda memories you keep with ya, like that time you caught the biggest fish or when your little one’s face lit up like a firefly. Those are the things that matter, ain’t they? More than all the money in the world.
And don’t worry if you ain’t never fished before. Like I said, it’s easy. Them folks at the farm, they’ll help ya out. They’re friendly as can be. Just like that lady who greeted me. Made me feel right at home, even though I’d never been there before. That’s the kind of place it is, the Rainbow Trout Farm. A good place, with good people, and good fish.
So go on, give it a try. You might just surprise yourself. And who knows, you might even catch the biggest fish of your life!
