Alright, let’s talk about fishin’ at that Indian River Inlet place in Delaware. I ain’t no fancy fisherman, mind you, just tellin’ it like it is. Folks been catchin’ stuff there, that’s for sure.
Fishin’ Spots and What You Might Catch
Now, they say you can find all sorts of fish there, most of the year. Stuff like them Spotted Seatrout – kinda spotty looking fish, ya know? And Flounder, oh them Flounder, they flat and good eatin’. Some folks call ‘em Fluke, too. Heard tell the Flounder fishin’ can be real good sometimes. Then there’s them Atlantic Croaker, they make a croakin’ noise, I reckon. And Sheepshead, got teeth like a sheep, funny lookin’ things. Black Drum, big and black, and Bluefish, they put up a good fight, they do.
Seems like you can catch these fish most anytime, but some times are better than others, I guess. You gotta figure that out yourself, or ask around. Them fellas at the bait shop, they might know a thing or two.
- Spotted Seatrout – Spotty lookin’ fish.
- Flounder (or Fluke) – Flat and good eatin’.
- Atlantic Croaker – Make a croakin’ noise.
- Sheepshead – Got teeth like a sheep.
- Black Drum – Big and black.
- Bluefish – Put up a good fight.
Gotta Have a License, They Say
Now, don’t go fishin’ without a license, or you’ll get in trouble. They got these rules, you know, gotta pay your dues. Just a regular fishin’ license, they say. Go get one afore you go, saves ya a heap of trouble.
Lots of Boats Out There
Heard tell there’s a bunch of boats goin’ out fishin’ from them marinas. Sunset Marina and Fishermans Marina, they call ’em. Lots of boats, means lots of fish, maybe? Or maybe just lots of people tryin’ to catch fish. Anyway, they was sayin’ somethin’ about 33 boats the other day. That’s a lot of boats, I tell ya.
What the Fish Are Up To
Now, some folks, they try to figure out what them fish are doin’. Like, when they’re gonna be bitin’ and all that. They call it “expected activity,” fancy words, I tell ya. But it makes sense, I guess. If you know when they’re gonna be hungry, you got a better chance of catchin’ ’em, right? So, you might wanna find out about that, if you’re serious about fishin’. Helps to know what’s bitin’ and when.
Baits and Lures and Such
And then there’s all this talk about bait and lures. What kind of bait to use, what kind of lures. Some folks swear by this, some folks swear by that. Me? I just use what I got, usually worms or somethin’ simple. But them fancy fishermen, they got all kinds of contraptions. You gotta figure out what works for you, I reckon. And stayin’ up-to-date, they say that’s important, too. Knowin’ what’s workin’ right now, what them fish are goin’ for.
Keepin’ Up with the Fishin’ News
They got these fishin’ reports, you know. Tells ya what folks are catchin’, what they’re usin’, and all that. Might be worth lookin’ at, if you wanna catch some fish. They call it “current fishin’ conditions,” fancy talk for what’s happenin’ out there on the water. And “recent catches,” that’s just what folks been pullin’ in. So, you can read them reports and get an idea of what’s goin’ on. Might help ya, might not. Fishin’ ain’t always predictable, that’s for sure.
Fishin’ in the Ocean City Area
Now, this Indian River Inlet place, it ain’t too far from Ocean City, I hear. So, if you’re fishin’ around there, it’s kinda the same deal, I reckon. Same kinda fish, same kinda bait, maybe. Fish don’t know the difference between one place and another, do they?
So that’s about all I know about fishin’ at Indian River Inlet. Go try your luck, see what ya catch. Remember your license, and don’t be afraid to ask for help. And if ya don’t catch nothin’, well, that’s just fishin’. Happens to the best of us.
One more thing, if the weather’s bad, don’t go. It ain’t worth it. Fish ain’t that important.
