Alright, let’s talk about catchin’ them bass in the fall, ya hear? Fall fishin’ is somethin’ special, the weather’s nice and the fish are hungry, gettin’ ready for winter. You gotta know what to throw at ’em though, that’s the key.
Now, early fall, when it’s still kinda warm, them bass are still chasin’ stuff. So, you wanna use somethin’ they can see and feel, you know? Spinnerbaits are real good for that. They got that flashy blade that makes a fuss in the water, gets the fishes’ attention. I like the ones that are shiny, like chrome and blue, or maybe white and blue. Those colors, they just seem to work. And don’t forget about crankbaits, the ones that wobble and dive. Them lipless crankbaits, they’re good too, especially when you work ’em fast. Chartreuse and pepper, that’s a good color combo, or somethin’ that looks like a crawfish, cause bass love them crawdads.

That’s when you gotta change your game. You gotta go low and slow. That’s when I start usin’ jigs. Jigs are heavy, they sink to the bottom, and you can bounce ’em around to make ’em look like somethin’ a bass would wanna eat. And tubes, them rubbery things, they work wonders too. Just drag ’em along the bottom, slow and steady. And if the fish are real finicky, I go with a drop-shot. That’s a little hook with a weight below it, keeps your bait right in their face. For colors, I like white, white and chartreuse, and that fire tiger color, the one with the orange and yellow. Bass seem to like them bright colors in the fall.
Remember, fall fishin’ is all about findin’ where them bass are hangin’ out. They like them shallow areas, especially if there’s some cover, like weeds or rocks. But as it gets colder, they might move a little deeper. You gotta keep lookin’, keep tryin’ different things. And don’t be afraid to experiment. Sometimes, the fish will surprise ya, they’ll hit somethin’ you wouldn’t expect.
Now, some folks say October is the best time for fall bass fishin’. That’s when them bass are eatin’ everything they can find, gettin’ fat for winter. It’s a good time to be out on the water, that’s for sure. But you gotta be prepared. Make sure you got your boat winterized and your gear all ready to go. Nothin’ worse than gettin’ out there and findin’ out somethin’s broke or you forgot somethin’ important.
And one more thing, don’t forget to pay attention to the water temperature. That’ll tell you a lot about where them bass are gonna be and what they’re gonna be doin’. When the water starts coolin’ down, that’s when the fishin’ really starts gettin’ good. But you gotta be patient, you gotta be persistent. Sometimes you’ll catch a bunch, sometimes you won’t catch nothin’. That’s just fishin’, ya know?
