Well, let me tell ya ’bout this here Tualatin Community Park Boat Ramp. It ain’t nothin’ fancy, mind you, but it gets the job done.
First off, you gotta find the place, right? It’s in that big Tualatin Community Park. You know, the one with all the stuff. They got places for them kids to kick balls, and places to hit balls with rackets, and even a place for them skateboardin’ youngsters. Heck, they even got a place for the dogs to run around, can you believe it? But we ain’t here for all that, we’re here for the boat ramp.
So, to get to the ramp, you gotta turn right in front of the trestle. You know, that big ol’ bridge thingy. Then you just follow that road straight till ya see it. Can’t miss it, really. There’s a parkin’ lot there too, so you can leave your car and go on down to the water.
Now, this here boat ramp, it ain’t for them big ol’ fancy boats. It’s more for the smaller ones, you know, the kayaks and canoes and such. They say you can put small boats in there too, but I ain’t seen too many of them. Mostly just folks paddlin’ around.
And let me tell you, paddlin’ around on that Tualatin River is mighty nice. It’s real peaceful-like. They call it the Tualatin River National Water Trail, sounds fancy, don’t it? But it’s just a nice, slow-movin’ river. You can see all kinds of birds and trees and such. It’s a good way to spend a sunny afternoon, that’s for sure.
- You can fish there, I hear. Folks catch all kinds of fish, but I ain’t much of a fisherwoman myself.
- And if you like walkin’, they got this trail there too. The Tualatin River Trail. It’s a loop, goes on for a few miles. People are always walkin’ and runnin’ and ridin’ bikes on it. Seems like a nice way to get some exercise, if you’re into that sort of thing.
- They say it takes about an hour and a bit to walk the whole thing. It’s easy, they say. Flat mostly, I reckon.
Now, some folks ask a lot of questions ’bout this place. Where is it? Well, it’s right there in Tualatin, on the Tualatin River and Hedges Creek, inside the Community Park. Can’t miss it, like I said. And what can you do there? Well, you can put your boat in the water, you can paddle around, you can walk, you can fish, you can let your dog run around, you can watch them kids play ball. You can do just about anything you want, long as it ain’t botherin’ nobody else.
Oh, and there’s another place to put your little boats in the water, just south of that Lloyd Minor Park. On the south side of that Dogwood Road, they say. It’s a tiny little spot, just for them kayaks and canoes, really. Good to know, I guess, if you don’t like the crowds at the main ramp.
So, there you have it. That’s the lowdown on the Tualatin Community Park Boat Ramp. It ain’t nothin’ special, but it’s a good place to go if you wanna get out on the water. Just remember to bring your own boat, ’cause they ain’t got none for rent, far as I know.
And don’t forget to be respectful of the place. Don’t leave your trash laying around, and don’t make too much noise. We all gotta share this here river, you know.
Anyways, I gotta go now. Got chores to do and all that. But you go on down to the boat ramp and see for yourself. You might just like it.
It’s a real purdy place if you catch it at the right time of day. Sunrise and sunset are especially nice, let me tell you. The way the light hits that water, it’s something special. Makes you appreciate the simple things in life.
So there it is. If you looking for some outdoor fun and fresh air Tualatin Community Park Boat Ramp is one option for sure.
