Alright, listen up, y’all. Let’s talk about fishin’ at that Folly Beach place. I ain’t no fancy fisherman, but I know a thing or two about catchin’ fish, ya hear?
Folly Beach Fishin’: What’s the Big Deal?
Folks keep jabberin’ about Folly Beach, sayin’ it’s the place to be for fishin’. And you know what? They might just be right. This place got all sorts of fish swimmin’ around, all year long. We talkin’ ’bout them Redfish, Black Drum, Flounder, and them Spotted Seatrout. Big ol’ fish, some of ’em.
And get this, in the summer, them Tarpon come rollin’ in. Big silver things, they are. Jump right outta the water, they do. Along with them, you got Bluefish and Spanish Mackerel. Plenty of fish to go around, that’s for sure.
Where to Throw Your Line
- That Big Ol’ Pier: They got this pier, the Folly Beach Pier, they call it. Stretches way out into the ocean, like a mile or somethin’. Good place to fish, especially if you got young’uns with ya. Easy to get to, and they got stuff for the kids to do when they get tired of fishin’. Heard tell it’s over a thousand feet long! That’s a long walk, but good for fishin’, I reckon.
- Morris Island Lighthouse Way: Heard some folks talkin’ ’bout fishin’ near that old lighthouse. Said it’s a good spot. Never been there myself, but sounds fishy enough.
- Other Spots: Truth be told, there’s fish all over the place. Just gotta find a good spot and throw your line in. Sometimes the best spots are the ones nobody else knows about.
When to Go Fishin’
Now, you can fish pretty much anytime at Folly Beach. But if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ special, you gotta know when to go. Like them Bull Redfish, they like the fall. Big ol’ bruisers, they are. Put up a good fight, they do.
But really, any time’s a good time. Just depends on what you’re lookin’ to catch. Some fish like it hot, some like it cold. Fish are finicky like that, you know?
What You Need to Know
Don’t need no fancy gear to fish at Folly Beach. A good rod and reel, some bait, and a little bit of luck, that’s all you need. Oh, and a hat. Sun’s pretty strong out there, don’t want to get sunburned.
And listen here, be respectful. Don’t leave your trash all over the place. Nobody likes a messy fisherman. And don’t take more fish than you can eat. Leave some for the next fella, ya hear?
Keepin’ Up with the Fishin’ News
Now, things change all the time with fishin’. One day they’re bitin’ like crazy, the next day they’re gone. That’s why you gotta keep up with the fishin’ reports. Talk to the locals, they know what’s goin’ on. Or check online, if you’re fancy like that.
Heard tell there’s these fellas, captains they call ’em, that take folks out fishin’. They know all the good spots, they do. Might be worth lookin’ into if you ain’t got your own boat. Atlantic Breeze Charters and Write Off The Rip Charters, somethin’ like that. They say the fish are on fire, whatever that means. Sounds like good fishin’ to me though.
The Fish are Biting!
Lately, they say the inshore fishin’ has been real good. Them Redfish are bitin’ good, and them Bonnethead sharks are swimmin’ around, showin’ off their fins. And the shrimp are jumpin’ outta the water, must mean the fish are hungry.
So there you have it. A little bit about fishin’ at Folly Beach. Go on down there and give it a try. You might just catch yourself a big one. And if you do, don’t forget to tell ’em old [name omitted] sent ya.
