Alright, so you wanna know about this Hwy 291 boat launch, huh? Well, lemme tell ya what I know. It’s on some lake, Spokane Lake they call it, and there’s this Spokane River and Little Spokane River too. All mixed up together like a big ol’ soup pot, ya know? They say it’s in somethin’ called Riverside State Park, up on that Columbia Plateau. Sounds fancy, but it’s just a place with water and trees, far as I can tell.
Now, this boat launch, it ain’t nothin’ special, just a place to put your boat in the water. But they got a dock too, for folks who like to fish. I seen some fellas catchin’ some pretty big fish there, so I guess it’s a good spot for that. Fishin’ is good, real good.
- They got a place for horses too, they call it an Equestrian Area. Horses everywhere, ridin’ around on trails.
- Lots of trails, they say hundreds of acres, goin’ round and round in loops. Good for them horse folks, I guess.
- And you can camp there too, if you like sleepin’ outside with the bugs and all. Not for me, I like my comfy bed.
This boat launch, it’s at the upper end of the reservoir, where that Little Spokane River dumps into it. You gotta have this thing called a Washington Discover Pass to get in there, costs ya thirty bucks a year or ten bucks a day. Highway robbery, if you ask me, but what can ya do? They gotta make their money somehow, I reckon.
I heard some folks sayin’ it’s in a place called Nine Mile Falls. Never been there myself, but I seen it on the map. Just a little town, nothin’ much to it. But they got a map of the boat launch and all, so you won’t get lost. Don’t get lost, it’s a big place!
If you’re lookin’ to go fishin’, this is the place to be. Lots of water, lots of fish. They say there’s bass and trout and all kinds of other fish in there. I don’t know nothin’ about that, I just like to watch the fellas catch ‘em. It’s peaceful, ya know? Just sittin’ on the dock, watchin’ the water go by.
And those horse people, they seem to like it too. Ridin’ around on them trails, lookin’ all happy. I guess it’s somethin’ to do, if you’re into that kinda thing. Me, I’d rather be sittin’ on my porch with a glass of iced tea, but to each their own, I always say.
So, that’s about all I know about this Hwy 291 boat launch. It’s a place to put your boat in the water, fish a little, maybe ride a horse if you’re so inclined. Just remember to bring your wallet, ‘cause that Discover Pass ain’t cheap. And don’t forget your bug spray, them skeeters can be fierce out there, especially in the evenin’.
If you want more information, you gotta go look it up yourself. I ain’t got no fancy computer or nothin’. I just know what I see and what I hear. But it seems like a decent place, far as I can tell. Folks seem to like it, and that’s good enough for me. It’s a good place, trust me. Now, you have a good day, ya hear? And don’t forget to tell ’em ol’ Bessie sent ya.
They got reviews and maps and all that fancy stuff online, so you can check that out too. I don’t know how to do all that, but my grandkids do. Maybe they can help you out. They’re always on them phones and computers, those kids. But hey, that’s the way the world is now, I guess. Gotta keep up with the times, even if it makes my head spin.
Anyways, go on and enjoy yourself at the boat launch. Catch some fish, ride a horse, have a good time. Just be safe and don’t cause no trouble. And if you see me there, give me a wave. I’ll be the one sittin’ on the dock, watchin’ the water go by.
