Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about this here “black and blue senko” thingamajig. Folks keep talkin’ about it, so I figured I’d put in my two cents, ya know? Don’t rightly know what all the fuss is about, but I reckon it’s gotta be somethin’ special if everyone’s yappin’ about it.
Now, from what I gather, this here senko is a kinda bait, used for catchin’ them fish. Fish bait, you say? Yep, that’s it. They say it’s a soft plastic thing, looks kinda like a worm, but fatter, and this one’s black and blue, like a bruise, I guess. They come in packs of ten, which seems like a lot, but I hear tell you lose ’em easy, snaggin’ ’em on rocks and such.
Some folks say this black and blue senko is the best thing since sliced bread for catchin’ bass. Bass, you know, them big ol’ fish that put up a good fight. Apparently, this here bait wiggles just right when it falls through the water, makin’ them bass think it’s somethin’ tasty. They say you can rig it up all sorts of ways, too. You can put a weight on it, or you can just hook it right through the middle, “wacky style” they call it. Sounds plumb crazy to me, but hey, if it works, it works.
- Weightless: Just hook it on and let it sink, they say it falls sideways, like a hurtin’ critter.
- Wacky Style: Hook it right through the middle, makes it wiggle all crazy-like.
- Texas Rigged: Hide the hook, so it don’t get snagged on weeds and such.
- Carolina Rigged: Put a weight a ways up the line, so it slides along the bottom.
- Shaky Head: Put it on a jig head and jiggle it around.
- Flippin’ Jig: Use a heavier jig for gettin’ into them thick weeds and such.
Now, I ain’t no fancy fisherman, mind you. I just use a good ol’ worm and a hook most times. But these folks that use these senkos, they swear by ’em. They say it’s easy enough for anyone to use, even young’uns and folks who ain’t never fished before. And they say it’s good for catchin’ big bass, too. Big bass, that’s the ticket, ain’t it?
This fella, Gary Yamamoto, seems to be the one who come up with this here senko. Don’t know him from Adam, but he must be doin’ somethin’ right if everyone’s usin’ his baits. They say he even fishes in them tournaments, you know, where they try to catch the biggest fish. Guess he knows a thing or two about fishin’, then.
Anyways, they say this black and blue color is a real good one, specially in murky water. Seems like them bass can’t resist it. I reckon it’s like when you put out a plate of somethin’ tasty for the chickens, they just come runnin’. Same kinda thing, I guess. They got all sorts of colors, but black and blue seems to be a favorite for many folks.
So, if you’re lookin’ to catch some bass, maybe you oughta try one of these here black and blue senkos. I can’t say for sure if it’ll work for ya, but it seems like a lot of folks are havin’ good luck with ’em. And if it don’t work, well, you can always go back to usin’ a good ol’ worm. That’s what I always say, “Can’t go wrong with the basics.”
And remember, fishin’ ain’t just about catchin’ fish. It’s about gettin’ out in the fresh air, enjoyin’ the peace and quiet, and maybe even spendin’ some time with family and friends. So even if you don’t catch a thing, you still had a good day. But I reckon catchin’ a big ol’ bass with one of these here black and blue senkos would make it a whole lot better!
